2022 Prospectus on Non-Degree Chinese Language Program for International Students in School of International Culture, South China Normal University

School of International Culture (SIC) was set up in January, 2004. After more than 10 years construction, it has become a good and large-scale of Chinese language teaching and research institution with distinctive teaching characteristic and wide influence home and abroad. SIC is mainly responsible for the education and teaching of foreign students in China, the training of international Chinese teachers and other international Chinese talents, the international promotion of Chinese and the dissemination of Chinese culture. The school takes talent training and scientific research as an important starting point, and actively promotes the development of discipline construction and teaching research. Over the past ten years, the school has formed a talent training system of "Chinese refresher - undergraduate - graduate" foreign students in China.
In order to meet the needs of international students in learning Chinese, South China Normal University is launching 2022 Autumn Semester non-degree Chinese courses to help international students to improve Chinese proficiency and better understand Chinese culture.
ü General requirements:
l Target Group: Non-Chinese citizens holding valid foreign ordinary passports
l Age requirement: 18-55 years old
l Physical Condition: In good health, meets the health examination standards of applying for a student visa or residence permit in China.
l Moral Cultivation: The applicant should be friendly to China, honest, law-abiding, respects the customs of Chinese people and has no record of violating school rules, public security punishment or criminal record.
ü Application Documents
l Equal to high school qualification in China.
l Diploma of final education or Pre-Graduating Certificate, original or notarized version, in notarized Chinese or English Translation.
l Full transcripts of final education, original or notarized version, in notarized Chinese or English Translation.
l Valid HSK test report if available.
l Valid Passport copy.
l Latest Visa copy (if available).
l 2-inch photos, same as the one on the passport.
ü Teaching Language:Chinese
ü Teaching method: Online for applicants abroad and offline for students in Guangzhou
ü Curriculum:
l Program Duration: up to two years
(1) 1ong term: one semester or one academic year
(2)Short term: 1-3 months (enter the corresponding level courses according to the Chinese proficiency test results; accept the replacement students).
l General courses: Divided into elementary, intermediate and advanced
courses. After admission, students will be divided into suitable classes by passing the "Chinese Proficiency Test".

E | Advanced Chinese | Fit for students who have studies Chinese language for 2 years, or as an equivalent to the level of HSK Level 5(Scoring 195) or above. |
l Characteristic courses: Divided into intensive courses and business courses

l Registration fee: 420 yuan (non-refundable and non-transferable)

① RMB7,300 for the period from Sep 2022 to Jan 2023;
② RMB5,500 for the period from Oct17,2022 to Jan 2023;
③ RMB3,000 for the period from Nov14,2022 to Jan 2023.
Offline learning
① RMB8,600 for the period from Sep 2022 to Jan 2023;
② RMB7,300 for the period from Oct17,2022 to Jan 2023;
③ RMB5,500 for the period from Nov14,2022 to Jan 2023.

Application Procedure
Go to http://istudy.scnu.edu.cn, create an individual account
↓
Fill in personal information online, upload all documents as required and submit application form completely
↓(About 1-2 weeks for initial review)
After passing the initial review, an email will be sent to pay the registration fee
↓
After confirming the reception of registration fee, school will schedule an interview and process the application of student visa
↓ (Average processing time is about 10 weeks)
Admission Notice and JW202 will be mailed to the applicant as required
↓ ( Mailing time is about 1 week)
Go to local Chinese embassy and consulates to apply for student visa
↓
Register on time at SCNU
Tips:
(1) Please upload the required documents to complete the application. Each document must be less than 1m.
(2) Certificates, diplomas and transcripts must be notarized copies. All documents shall be translated into Chinese or English.
(3) Two weeks after the start of school, the transfer application will not be accepted.
(4) If you have studied in any university in China, please upload your passport, visa page, transcript, attendance certificate (more than 80%) and transfer certificate.
(5) International students from some countries are required to submit a certificate of no crime and resume notarized by the Chinese embassy. The specific requirements will be notified by email.
(6) Those under the age of 18 who apply for a degree or long-term education must have a guardian of Chinese nationality. The guardian's certificate must be notarized, and the specific requirements will be notified by mail.
(7) Students in some countries need to submit financial and economic certificates, and the specific requirements will be notified by email.
